At what point do you become an artist? When you paint a picture? When you quit your ‘real’ job? When you fill in your occupation on a form?
Amy Groves is a freelance artist and children’s illustrator, even if she struggles to say it. She’s a natural creative who loves nothing more than doodling, painting, designing, crafting, and reshaping her work. Yet, she still struggles with the word ‘artist.’ To name something is to make it real, and suddenly the safety net is torn from beneath you.
Amy shares a snippet of her daily life, a window into her mind and the lessons she’s learned since she left work to follow a dream she’s almost too terrified to voice.
